Good Art, New Music, Returning to North Carolina, and More

Here are some notes and thoughts (including some added to my Email Newsletters, Substack Notes, Instagram, and/or Facebook accounts) from today that show how I’m trying to flourish anyway today…

May we all flourish anyway every day.

On Going to Church at 7:45 in the Morning

Tim and I have been going to the early church service lately, and I guess we’re old because we’re really enjoying this low-key church service while so many people are still sleeping.

From Flourish Anyway® Spiritual Direction for Creative Souls Weekly Roundup No. 4:

Right Now >

The first Spiritual Direction for Creative Souls Checkup™ is live. And I’ll be sharing at least two more SDCS Checkups from others this coming week.

Learn about the purpose of the Spiritual Direction for Creative Souls™ Checkup Series here. And if you’d like to participate and be featured in this series, please complete this Google form. I’ll reach out within a week or so to let you know when your checkup responses will be published.

ALSO

I’m back in Marshall, North Carolina for some solo retreats and plenty of silence and solitude. I had a lovely five or so days at home with Tim and the kids and the grandcar (who head back to college and graduate school in the next few days).

I’m so thankful for friends who welcome me into their home as I prepare for the book launch and enjoy some extended time in this area that has such a strong hold on my heart, mind, and soul.

Presence & Mystery

I look forward to being at the Presence & Mystery conference in Philadelphia next month. And I’m thrilled to be reading from a newly published essay at the Friday night Literary Salon.

A Painting I Love

Still loving Clyfford Still and this painting that I’ve seen at the Whitney a few times this year.

Lost Weekend

I’m loving the new Phoebe Bridgers album. It’s giving me fall vibes similar to how Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky has been giving me fall vibes for almost 20 years.

Much love to the creative souls. May we flourish anyway and take more solo retreats.
